About Homelessness

Homelessness results from a variety of circumstances that require people to choose between food, shelter, health insurance, childcare and other basic needs.  There are two trends which are largely responsible for the rise in homelessness.  The trends include a growing shortage of affordable rental housing and a simultaneous increase in poverty.  Additional factors contributing to homelessness include:
